US Retail Sales Rose 0.6 Pct In August, Short Of 1 Pct Prediction

Retail sales increased in August to $537.5 billion, up 0.6 percent, according to data published on Wednesday (Sept. 16) by the U.S. Census Bureau. The reading followed July’s increase of 0.9 percent, revised from 1.2 percent, and is 2.6 percent above August of last year. Economists had expected a 1 percent increase.
