According to a report in CNBC , students at Duke University, University of Alabama and University of Oklahoma can store their student IDs on their iPhone or Apple Wallet. Students are able to use a digital version of their ID to get into the school building and purchase lunch without the need for a physical card or cash.

Apple has added 12 new universities to its contactless student ID program, which allows students to pay for things and gain entry to locked doors, and acts as an alternative to a physical ID card.
