I like the idea but I am a bit concerned about the potential for fraud from both companies and investors. From their web site: Based in San Francisco, MarketX was founded by a group of experienced professionals from finance, legal, and technology backgrounds. 05:44 pm That is a wrap on demos for the day. Demo: Sezzle app with knowledge based authentication to link bank accounts. Demoing first with apple watch. Is this the first time we have seen an apple watch as apart of a demo today? Then demo goes to mobile app where you can see investment ideas, recommendations, etc.

I’m having a little trouble following their demo as it’s fast but I’m working on it. I’ve been in conversations with folks fro ForwardLane over the past two weeks and I’m really interested in their offering and their demo today. Very good demo. This is a very sophisticated fraud detection technology! ^SR.

One use case is to use a bot, via text messaging, to help customers when they have potential credit card fraud. Demo: calling customer service and screen shows personalized information such as info about checking account instead of the standard number screen on the phone. Demo 2: when a customer does need to talk with an agent.

Though usage remains low, Mastercard reported this week that it has seen an overall decrease in fraud since the EMV change. The company reports that between April 2015 and April 2016, retailers who have transitioned to EMV experienced a 54% decrease in counterfeit fraud. Nearly 70% have embraced mobile technology.
