Amazon spokesperson Jay Carney was the latest in Amazon’s upper ranks to once again dispute the idea that Amazon is an all-controlling monolith slowly but surely taking over all of retail. At a tech conference this week, Carney said Amazon accounts for a scant 4 percent of retail in the U.S. and less than 1 percent globally.
