NY Man Gets Jail Time For $390K Card Skimming Scheme

A New York man, 39-year-old Bogdan Rusu, was sentenced to 60 months in prison on charges of using credit card skimming tactics to steal $390,141 from various New Jersey banks, according to a Department of Justice (DOJ) report. Rusu, along with all of the other people involved in the scheme, pled guilty to the crimes.

Wire fraud incidents nearly doubled to 27 percent in 2014, from 14 percent a year earlier, according to the 2015 AFP Payments Fraud and Control Survey.
