Back in mid-2005, though, things looked pretty grim for YouTube. Between early 2005 and early 2006 they did a bunch of things to get to critical mass. If you look at a graph of their traffic and video uploads over 2005 and 2006, you’ll see the classic hockey stick that every platform needs to aspire to.
