Early Air Force service prepared the way for community banking in California. My Air Force training was as a security policeman. By Stephen M. I was born and raised in Bakersfield, Calif., and, immediately following graduation from high school in 1966, I joined the U.S. Air Force and served four years during the Viet Nam War.
