A growing issue in the banking industry is how to design the user-experience interface in mobile banking, and Leslie Martinez-Moreno, senior manager of user experience and design at CIBC, discussed with Tim Tang how she thinks designers should approach it.

"Customers interact with Amazon, Google, PayPal, Square," she said. That experience makes them raise their expectations now in the experiences they have with their banks and their financial institutions."

Technology exits, she said, that we can’t yet understand how they may impact banking, but the change of pace means that many of those technologies may find their way into banking sooner than we think — maybe even — within weeks or months.
