IBM, FSS team up to provide mobile solutions for FIs

FSS says it will revamp its digital banking solutions with the IBM MobileFirst platform to provide scalable next-gen mobile banking solutions in the APAC region.

Financial Software and Systems, a Chennai, India-based provider of payment technology and transaction processing, has partnered with IBM in revamping FSS digital banking solutions with the IBM MobileFirst platform.

This strategic partnership will result in scalable next-gen mobile banking solutions for banks in the APAC region, a press release said.

Increased demand for mobile services from customers has compelled banks to look for solutions that are compatible across mobile operating systems and handheld devices, FSS said.

IBM MobileFirst enables standardization of processes on a single platform to improve efficiency in addressing time-to-market needs in app development. The platform also offers enhanced security and key features such as device fingerprinting and mobile device management with remote debugging and software fixes.

According to the release, the platform also offers mobile application management along with auto upgrades and upgrading of mobile banking and mobile payment features on the move, to deliver a seamless mobility experience.

IBM's MobileFirst Platform continues to enable enterprises to accelerate delivery of their mobile strategy with development libraries, capabilities that are designed to facilitate secure integration and a ubiquitous data layer to provide a more engaging user experience," said Naveen Gupta, IBM Asia Pacific Executive for MobileFirst. "It can help clients achieve greater efficiencies and take advantage of new growth opportunities in untapped markets while securely scaling the number of users and apps being delivered to the market, especially in the financial services sector."

"[O]ur belief in IBM as a trusted technology provider was further strengthened with the unique capabilities of the MobileFirst Platform, which will help us provide scalable next-gen mobile banking solutions to banks in the APAC Region," said Suresh Rajagopalan, president of software products at FSS.
