Black Hills Community Bank’s rewards checking account, Community Cash, has been part of the bank’s product line for more than four years, with the initial 2.53% APY on qualifying balances up to $25k in effect the entire time. Qualifying balances greater than $25k earn 0.25%, with non-qualifying balances earning 0.05% APY.

The statement cycle qualifying requirements include:

  • At least 15 debit card purchases
  • Enroll and receive e-Statements
  • Log into online or mobile banking at least once during statement cycle

The Community Cash account has no monthly maintenance fee or minimum balance requirement, but does require a $100 minimum opening deposit. Domestic ATM fees will be reimbursed for the first five transactions up to a total of $19.99 per statement cycle, if qualifying requirements are met. ATMs fees up to $4.99 per single transaction will be reimbursed automatically, with fees of $5.00 or greater requiring a receipt. There is a limit of one Community Cash account per Social Security number and is intended only for personal use.

Headquartered in Rapid City, South Dakota, Black Hills Community Bank offers its Community Cash account to all South Dakota residents who have a valid Social Security number.
