Lots of tech and operations to clean up, it appears, but no solid bank is better qualified than the team from Minneapolis. The merger of equals activity in 2021 was sky high, primarily because banks with pinched margins from low rates worked to grabbed scale. From nowhere, sizable regional players are being created.
