Walmart Speeds Deliveries By Fulfilling Orders At Local Stores

In an effort to reduce delivery times, Walmart announced that it will start fulfilling some of its online orders directly from individual stores. “We’ll use our existing local delivery capabilities to get orders to customers faster, while reducing the load on our online fulfillment centers,” Tom Ward, senior vice president of customer product, said in a statement on Tuesday (Nov. 24).

Dollar Tree Reports Same-Store Sales Increase, Plans To Expand Multi-Price Program

Dollar Tree, Inc. President and CEO Mike Witynski reported on Tuesday (Nov. 24) that the company's Dollar Tree segment “delivered its strongest same-store sales performance in the past 10 quarters" in Q3. The company reported that same-store sales increased 4 percent at Dollar Tree and 6.4 percent at Family Dollar. Management also reported that the Dollar Tree segment's operating margin improved 50 basis points to reach 12.7 percent.

Indian Digital Payments Platform Cashfree Lands $35M From Apis Partners

Indian digital payments platform Cashfree has just landed tens of millions in new capital to help fuel its expansion, the Bengaluru-based company announced on Tuesday (Nov. 24). London-based private equity investor Apis Partners is pumping $35 million into Cashfree in exchange for a minority equity position in the company.
