KeyBank, Cardtronics expand business partnership

The companies' latest agreement will give KeyBank customers access to 200 surcharge-free Cardtronics ATMs in Washington and Oregon.

KeyBank NA, a wholly owned subsidiary of KeyCorp., has inked its third agreement with Cardtronics Inc. to provide customer access to 200 surcharge-free ATMs at Walgreens stores in Washington and Oregon states.

Under the terms of the agreement, 50 of the 200 ATMs will carry the KeyBank brand, according to a Cardtronics press release. With approximately $95.4 billion in assets, Cleveland, Ohio-based KeyBank ranks among the top 25 banks in the United States.

KeyBank and Cardtronics struck their first agreement in 2014, branding Cardtronics-owned ATMs at Rite-Aid stores in New York.

Late in 2015, KeyBank branded additional Cardtronics ATMs at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and at Burke Lakefront Airport, also in Cleveland.

"With every expansion of our relationship with Cardtronics, the convenience of KeyBank's ATM network has improved, and surcharge-free cash on the go is a perk that makes life easier for KeyBank clients," said Steffanie Schroeder, KeyBank product manager for integrated channel management.

"From coast-to-coast, our two companies have established an ATM access business relationship that benefits everyone involved, including our retail partners," said David Dove, president of the North American business group at Cardtronics.
