Seven states and D.C. file lawsuit challenging FDIC “Madden fix” rule

Allegedly, the FDIC’s rule represents an expansion of the FDIA’s preemption of state law interest rate caps by extending the preemption to assignees of loans originated by such banks.

First Integrity Bank - This Minnesota bank failed in 2008. They put together a transition team. I was on that team. One of our responsibilities was coming up with a new name.
