Groupon Expands Food Delivery Service To St. Louis

Groupon announced on Wednesday (Oct.12) that its on-demand food delivery service, Groupon To Go, has expanded to St. Louis.

In a press release, Groupon said residents and businesses in the Gateway City across downtown, Central West End, Midtown, Soulard, Tower Grove and The Hill can use the Groupon mobile app to have food delivered directly to their doorstep from some of the area’s best local restaurants.

“We’re thrilled to bring Groupon To Go to St. Louis and give our customers easy access to the food they want, when they want it,” said Dan Roarty, senior vice president of restaurants at Groupon, in the press release. “St. Louis has a very underrated food scene ranging from top regional favorites to the finest ethnic cuisines, and many of these places haven’t offered delivery until now.”

Groupon To Go is offering delivery for more than 40 restaurants, including Basil Spice Thai, Qdoba, Mama’s on the Hill, Las Palmas and Kampai Sushi. Customers can pay for their order using a credit card or Apple Pay and track the delivery to their location using a digital map to know exactly when their food will arrive. Groupon To Go also features delivery deals, including savings off entire orders, popular menu items and more.

Groupon has a delivery presence in more than 40 markets, and St. Louis is the third to use the Groupon To Go brand. Diners can use the service via the Groupon mobile app by hitting the delivery and takeout button or by visiting www.groupon.com/togo. Both platforms offer the ability to search available restaurants by distance, cuisine type and business hours.

The move on the part of Groupon comes on the heels of the daily deals website and app operator announcing in the summer its continuing efforts to shrink down, streamline and centralize its eCommerce efforts have gotten another boost with the announcement the firm will be selling off its Indonesia business to KFit.
