Juan Benitez, general manager and chief technology officer of Braintree, a PayPal subsidiary, will participate in a fireside chat at Bank Innovation 2017.
Bank Innovation 2017, March 6-7 in San Jose, Calif., will feature dozens of speakers on investing in innovation, chatbots, open banking ecosystems, blockchain and more.
Benitez has been CTO at Braintree, one of the world’s leading payments providers, since 2012. Prior to that he worked in search advertising at Yahoo! Inc. He graduated Carnegie Mellon with a computer engineering degree in 1996.
Braintree was founded in 2007 in Chicago, and acquired by PayPal, then an eBay subsidiary, in 2013. In 2012 Braintree acquired Venmo, one of the most notable names in payments among millennials. Braintree’s global platform powers payments for thousands of online and mobile commerce innovators in more than 40 countries and 130 currencies, and supports companies such as Airbnb, Uber, GitHub, and Lyft.
The invitation-only event will also feature speakers from BBVA, Silicon Valley Bank, Mastercard, Wells Fargo, Fiserv, Green Dot, Bank of America, and U.S. Bank.
