Cross-border transactions may be getting easier, but most American consumers are sticking to online purchases inside of the United States.
American consumers were the least likely group to make an online purchase outside of the country they are living in, according to a study conducted by Harris poll for Blumberg Capital .
The study surveyed approximately 5,800 adults across the U.S., the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Israel.
Israeli adults were the most likely consumers to make an online purchase outside of their country of residence, the survey found, with 44% of Israeli respondents agreeing that they were “likely” to make such a purchase at least once each month.
Consumers in the United Kingdom were the second least-likely to make a purchase outside of the country, with 21% of British adults stating the belief that those purchases will grow to be more expensive in the future.
