New Hampshire Federal Credit Union names next CEO

New Hampshire Federal Credit Union in Concord has named Anthony Emerson as its next president and CEO.

Emerson will take the helm of the $325 million-asset credit union in January. He was most recently president and CEO of IC Federal Credit Union in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.

Emerson will replace John Young, who earlier this year announced his plans to retire at the end of 2021.

“As the search committee took on the critical task of finding our next president/CEO, we were looking for someone who would care about financial well-being, our community and our employees as we do,” said James Fredyma, chairman of New Hampshire FCU, in a press release Wednesday. “It became clear that Tony brings the combination of experience, strategy and passion for the credit union system that will carry us forward to a successful future.”

Prior to his stint at IC FCU, Emerson was the president and CEO of The Credit Union League of Connecticut.

“I am enthusiastic about returning to the Granite State to work with a dedicated board, staff and loyal membership.” Emerson said in the press release. “I look forward to working with all of the credit union’s stakeholders in order to grow, diversify and enhance product and service offerings for the membership.”

Young spent more than 35 years at the credit union, and has been its president and CEO for the last 27 of those years.

New Hampshire FCU earned $976,000 in the third quarter, a 25% increase compared to the year before, according to call report data from the National Credit Union Administration.
