New mobile wallet launches in Nepal

Qpay, a Nepal-based mobile payment platform, has been launched in the country to allow users to make payments via their mobile devices.

The main features of the Qpay app for consumers are:

  • payment of products/services in retail outlets for clothes, groceries, restaurants, taxis and more;

  • fund transfers;

  • bill payments: allows bill payment with few clicks for Phone bills, internet, cable TV, electricity bills (users can link up their bank accounts with the app for payment and loading);

  • funds withdrawal from different merchant locations, for an urgent need.

  • a proximity-based feature: the app will help to locate taxis nearby Qpay users (taxi fares can also be paid using the Qpay app); the app can also help to find nearby deals, ATMs, and restaurants;

In addition, the company has partnered with over 45 banks, for over 100,000 users and 1500 merchants.
