South Dakota credit union promotes lender to CEO

Area FCU has promoted Steve Streier, its former vice president of lending, to CEO.

Area Federal Credit Union in Aberdeen, South Dakota, has named Stephen Streirer as its new president and CEO effective Aug. 11.

He replaces Robert Goscicki, who resigned in July.

Streier has been Area FCU's vice president of lending since 2000. He is also the owner of Streier Consulting.

The $191 million-asset credit union serves people who live, work, worship or attend school in Brown County.

Area FCU earned $803,000 million in the first six months of 2022, a 30% decrease from a year earlier, according to call report data from the National Credit Union Administration.
