Santander launches partial payment service for online shops

Monday 28 June 2021 12:08 CET | News

The Austrian Santander Consumer Bank has partnered with the Germany-based ecommerce technology company payever to develop a partial payment solution for online shops.

This solution can be integrated into various shop systems through a plug-in. The service is free for partners of the bank, includes IT support and is available for shop systems such as Shopify, Magento, Shopware and WooCommerce. Retailers who do not use any of these can also integrate the partial payment solution via an IT interface.

Purchases of EUR 100 or more can be paid in small instalments (up to 60 monthly instalments), enabling web shop operators to address the growing ‘buy now, pay later’ target group. This can be done without the risk of default or having to forego liquidity, because while buyers pay for the goods in instalments, the retailer receives the purchase price from the Santander Consumer Bank immediately.
