Western Union and Zain Cash partner to facilitate cross-border payments

Global platform for cross-border, cross-currency money movement Western Union has partnered with Jordan-based Zain Cash, a mobile telecom operator in the Middle East to facilitate cross-border money transfer in Jordan.

The two companies announced the launch of Western Union digital money transfer service through Zain Cash’s mobile wallet. Over 250,000 of Zain Cash customers in Jordan can now send up to USD 14,000 from their mobile money wallets into bank accounts and available wallet and cards to over 130 countries and territories worldwide. Moreover, receivers from 100 countries can benefit from real-time money transfers.

Customers can top up their wallets directly from their linked bank accounts in Jordan or through cash at Zain’s network of outlets available across the country. Zain Cash mobile wallet users will also be able to receive money transfers from destinations around the world in the upcoming months of 2022.

The partnership aims to boost digital inclusion and support the efforts of the country’s Central Bank to drive the evolution of mobile payments and accelerate economic growth by linking Jordan’s economy to thousands of digital payment possibilities.
