The Reserve Bank of India, the country’s central bank, will be going to court over its cryptocurrency ban after all.
According to reports, the Delhi High Court issued a notice to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), The Union of India through Secretary, Ministry of Finance and GST Council, yesterday.
The notice comes because of a petition filed by Ahmedabad-based cryptocurrency platform Kali Digital last week, against the RBI, arguing that its recent ban on all banks and financial services from dealing with cryptocurrency violates the Indian constitution.
The RBI has not commented on the matter yet.
