Time is running out to apply for Bank Innovation’s DEMOvation Challenge, in which fintech startups demo before a crowd of conference attendees in hopes of earning their vote and walking away with prizes. The application deadline is Friday, February 8. Apply here.
The DEMOvation sessions will be presented on Tuesday, March 12 by our sister accelerator INV Fintech, is part of the wider Bank Innovation Ignite 2019 conference, which returns to Seattle after a two-year sojourn in the Bay Area.
Fintech startups of all kinds are welcome, from insurtech to regtech to lending to payments. Participating companies will be given eight minutes to demo and two minutes for Q&A. The audience will choose its two favorites, and a panel of judges will then call the two companies on stage to interview them and determine a final winner.
The judges will be looking for startups launched (i.e. incorporated) within the last 24 months that possess unique intellectual property or business models that are differentiated from other fintech startups.
Last year’s winner was Baton Systems, a distributed ledger-based payments platform. The judges included fintech strategist and consultant Brad Leimer, Ryan Gilbert from Propel Venture Partners, and Matt Wilcox, senior vice president, marketing strategy and innovation, Fiserv.
The winner of the DEMOvation Challenge will receive admission in the next INV Fintech accelerator class, as well as an advertising package on BankInnovation.net worth up to $10,000.
Startups can find the application form here. Demo slot winners will receive notification by February 15.
