Kahina Van Dyke, global director of commerce & payment partnerships at Facebook, will be a featured speaker at Bank Innovation 2017, which takes place in San Jose on March 6-7.
Van Dyke will participate in a fireside chat at the invitation-only event.
Facebook has a market capitalization of $384.5 billion.
Van Dyke has been at the social network since Jan. 2016, and though she is now based in the Bay Area, she has worked in a global capacity in her previous worklife. Prior to Facebook, she was on Mastercard’s global team, serving in the U.K. and U.A.E. Before joining Mastercard, she worked across Europe for Citigroup. Since 2008, she has been an executive mentor in the Global Women Executive Leadership Council.
Facebook enabled peer-to-peer payments in its Messenger platform last year, and though most of its revenue comes via advertising, it has massive, barely tapped potential to turn on commerce in its main app, which has more than 1.7 billion users in mobile alone.
Bank Innovation 2017 will also feature speakers from Silicon Valley Bank, J.P. Morgan Chase, MasterCard, Wells Fargo, Visa, Citibank, and Bank of America, among many other leading financial services companies. Attendees to the event will enjoy startup demos, in addition to panels and presentations, and have the chance to seek advice and insights from fintech experts at the new Innovation Bar.
