Back in 2008, the fintech revolution in India was truly revolutionised with the founding of BankBazaar by Adhil Shetty, Arjun Shetty, and Rati Shetty in the vibrant city of Chennai. Fun Fact: Did you know that before becoming BankBazaar, we actually went by the name “Loan Dukaan”? However, we discovered that ‘Dukaan’ was a tongue-twister for many (Oh, the struggle!). So, we had a show of hands, and voilà! We settled on the much easier-to-spell and catchier name, BankBazaar. And as they say, the rest is history!
$60 Million Jackpot: Funding Frenzy in 2015
Fast forward to 2015, and BankBazaar struck gold with a whopping $60 million in Series C funding. Leading the charge was none other than the tech giant Amazon, along with support from Fidelity Growth Partners, Sequoia Capital, Walden International, and Mousse Partners. This mammoth funding injection catapulted BankBazaar into the big leagues, fuelling our ambition to transform the financial landscape.
KYC Made Easy: Paperless Wonder in 2016
BankBazaar continued to make waves in 2016 when we unveiled our paperless e-KYC platform. Bid farewell to stacks of paperwork and lengthy verification processes! With this innovation, customers could complete the Know Your Customer (KYC) process online, swiftly and effortlessly.
2017’s Game-Changer: Credit Score Platform
In 2017, BankBazaar opened the gateway to financial freedom with the launch of a digital Credit Score platform. Customers could access their Credit Score for free, arming them with valuable insights to make sound financial decisions and seize opportunities.
New Launch Party with Co-Branded Credit Cards
2021 was a year of celebration as BankBazaar joined hands with YES BANK and RBL Bank to introduce co-branded Credit Cards. This partnership enriched the product lineup and enabled customers to choose personalised credit solutions tailored to their needs and preferences.

Alongside the co-branded Credit Cards, BankBazaar unveiled TurboLoan, powered by Chola Finance. It was a game-changer for Personal Loan applicants, offering lightning-fast approvals, making dreams a reality in the blink of an eye.
