First Tennessee Promotes Three Execs in Mid-Atlantic Region

First Tennessee Bank in Memphis said Tuesday that has promoted three executives in its Middle Atlantic region.

Billy Frank was named president of the region, the title formerly held by John Fox, who is now the chairman for the region. Richard Shaffer, who had been the bank's manager of commercial products, now has Frank's former title, regional president of the community banking group in Tennessee.

Fox, 63, will provide community leadership, mentoring, business development and leadership during the initial stages of the bank's 2020 strategic plan for the region. Frank, 45, will offer long-term executive leadership in the territory. Shaffer, 51, will provide executive leadership for the community bank presidents in eight Tennessee communities and one county.

The $27.3 billion-asset bank, part of First Horizon National, established its Middle Atlantic region 12 years ago with a single office. The territory now consists of seven markets: Winston-Salem, Greenville, Charlotte and Raleigh in North Carolina; Richmond, Va.; Charleston, S.C.; and Jacksonville, Fla.

"The three leaders who earned these promotions have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and will enhance our ability to attract, retain and develop the best bankers in the business throughout our markets," David Popwell, president of banking for First Horizon, said in a press release.
