Hancock in Miss. Names Tampa's CFO to Board

Hancock Holding in Gulfport, Miss., has nominated the chief financial officer for the city of Tampa, Fla., to join its board.

Sonya Little would succeed Anthony Topazi at the $23 billion-asset Hancock, according to a Tuesday news release. The company's board election is scheduled for its April 21 annual meeting.

Little has been the city of Tampa's CFO since 2011, administering its $850 million operating budget and managing a group of 90 workers. Previously she was managing director for the Public Resources Advisory Group in St. Petersburg, Fla. She also previously worked for Barnett Bank and Florida National Bank, and also was an investment banker for RBC Capital Markets and William R. Hough & Co.

Topazi, a former chief operating officer at electric utility Southern Co., is not standing for re-election. He has been a Hancock director since 2007.
