AP Software Firm Beanworks Debuts Expense Reimbursement Function

Accounts payable (AP) automation software firm Beanworks has rolled out a function for expense reimbursements to assist companies in automating how they get and handle staffer expenditures, according to an announcement.

The new function lets staffers send in receipts for their expenditures digitally through the Beanworks mobile program or website. Supervisors can look over receipts and give the go-ahead for reimbursements from anywhere.

“Expense reimbursement is the latest addition to our AP tech stack that is going to improve the way companies engage with employees more dynamically,” Beanworks CEO Catherine Dahl said in the announcement. “As companies ‘normalize’ a remote culture for staff, having the ability to submit expense reports online and receive payments electronically is going to further enhance the remote efficiencies of any business.”

Staffers have historically needed to keep receipts, copy that documentation and complete paperwork to provide to finance divisions. Those workers then needed to monitor their asks and possibly wait a long time to receive renumeration.

Beanworks says that 19 percent of all non-automated expense reports contain a mistake, and those require 18 minutes on average to fix.

The Beanworks function, however, handles each stage of the expenditure reimbursement workflow spanning from the scanning of receipts to getting renumeration, according to the announcement.

Beanworks says workers can upload receipts quickly, while finance workforces and supervisors can give the go-ahead for expenditures, or turn them down, expediently.

The news comes as Beanworks Solutions and Cambridge Global Payments, a FLEETCOR company, are continuing their collaboration to combine offerings and provide a complete accounts payable (AP) solution to customers.

The tie-up offers “high visibility” during the accounting process from validating an invoice to confirming a payment.

“We look forward to continuing our partnership with Beanworks to provide a combined AP automation and global payments solution that can help minimize administrative overhead for users of the platform,” Cambridge Global Payments President Mark Frey noted in a past press release.
