Postmates Is Now Available In 60 Percent Of U.S. Households

Postmates announced that it is expanding into 134 new cities so that it now covers 60 percent of the U.S.

“Now available in 550 cities total and counting, we are continuing to grow at an unprecedented rate,” the personal delivery company wrote in a blog post , noting that in the last several months alone it has launched in 264-plus cities, raised $300 million and grown its subscription product, Unlimited, by more than 300 percent, “allowing members to enjoy zero delivery fees in exchange for a flat monthly or annual fee.” The company listed Providence, Rhode Island; Colombia, South Carolina; Little Rock, Arkansas and Athens, Georgia as newly-added service areas.

To celebrate the launch, Postmates is giving these new customers $4 off any Chipotle order when they use the code CHIPOTLE134. In July, Postmates announced it had expanded its delivery footprint with Chipotle, adding another 300 locations for that quick service restaurant, with an attendant $3.99 delivery fee. The two firms have had a relationship for a number of years.

In a statement announcing the moves, Dan Mosher, SVP and merchant lead at Postmates, said that “Chipotle is one of the most popular merchants on the Postmates platform. We are thrilled to grow this relationship, drive down the cost to our shared customers and increase our reliability together. We’ve already delivered over one million of their burritos and two million of their burrito bowls to our customers, and we will continue to ensure that their food is delivered just the way our customers want it.”

Last year, Postmates launched its first-ever grocery product, Fresh, which delivers curated groceries and retail essentials in minutes.

“This means customers can now get pesto, paper towels, LaCroix, Halo Top, kombucha, free-range chicken, prosciutto, salmon filet, organic apples, avocados — and pretty much all the essentials they need, in minutes,” the company said at the time.
