Cort O’Haver, CEO of Umpqua Bank, will join the fireside chat at Bank Innovation Ignite 2019.
The event will take place March 11-12 at Seattle’s Hyatt Olive 8 Hotel. You can join the event by registering here.
O’Haver has been CEO of Portland, Ore.-based Umpqua since January 2017, replacing longtime CEO Ray Davis, who had served in that position for about 23 years.
Since taking over the position at Umpqua, O’Haver has brought a lot of new elements to the bank’s innovation strategy, including the concept of “human digital.”
In a previous interview with Bank Innovation, O’Haver described this theme as:
It’s true, not just for this bank but the whole industry, that the physical delivery is not as relevant to the customer as it was a few years ago, The big question was how are we going to take our experience, which 20 years ago was very relevant, and change that to be relevant today?
As a result of this strategy, Umpqua earlier this fall launched a new type of customer engagement model called Go-To, the service uses human agents to engage with customers digitally.
