Grocery delivery for Prime members is taking its next great leap forward as Amazon and Whole Foods have announced that Prime Now Grocery is expanding to Chicago, Houston, Indianapolis, Minneapolis and San Antonio.

As of today (June 26) consumers in those newly added markets can buy a range of grocery items, fresh and pre-packaged, and have them delivered for free within two hours, or for a small fee within the hour.

Customers can start shopping from Whole Foods Market selection from the Prime Now website or by using the app available.

“We’ve been delighted with the customer response to delivery in as little as an hour through Prime Now, and we’re excited to bring the service to our customers in Chicago, Houston, Indianapolis, Minneapolis and San Antonio,” said Christina Minardi, Whole Foods Market Executive Vice President of Operations. “Today’s announcement is another way that we are continuing to expand access to our high-quality products and locally-sourced favorites.”

All newly added locations will be the standard rundown of fresh and organic produce, bakery, dairy, meat and seafood, floral and everyday staples. Consumers in Chicago, Houston, Minneapolis and San Antonio will also be able to choose from a selection of alcoholic beverages.

The announced expansion of Prime Now comes on the heels of Amazon’s news that it has officially expanded Amazon Prime membership benefits to all of its Whole Foods locations in the U.S. as of this week.

In order to use the discounts, Amazon said Prime members can utilize the Whole Foods Market app and scan a Prime Code at checkout. Alternatively, the eCommerce retailer said members can use their mobile phone number to access the discounts. In addition, members can access the savings through Prime Now delivery in cities such as Boston, Atlanta and Los Angeles.
