CEO of Vibe Credit Union in Michigan to retire

Allan Kemp McMorris, president and CEO of Vibe Credit Union in Novi, Michigan, is stepping down as head of the institution.

McMorris will retire next summer, the $1.1 billion-asset credit union said. McMorris joined Vibe in 2019 when it merged with Oakland County Credit Union in Waterford, Michigan.

“I have had the great honor and pleasure of leading Vibe Credit Union,” McMorris said in a press release. “I’ve been blessed with a dedicated board of directors, an extraordinary management team and a devoted team of employees who care about our members.”

Originally founded in 1936 by employees of the downtown Detroit office of Michigan Bell Telephone, the credit union has grown to serve more than 72,000 members across the southeast region of its home state with its network of 16 branches.

“Allan has built an amazing team dedicated to serving and improving the financial lives of our members,” Dale Cunningham, chair of Vibe’s board of directors, said in the release. “He has built an exceptional culture for the management team and staff that always puts the members first.”

McMorris has also led the boards of organizations including the National Credit Union Foundation and the Credit Union National Association.
