NCR Corp. announced the acquisition of Midwest POS Solutions to expand its presence in Kentucky and Indiana, as detailed in a press release on Monday (Oct. 7).

Midwest POS is among the first NCR Aloha dealers. The acquisition will expand NCR’s service to 1,000 restaurants in the region.

The Indiana- and Kentucky-based Midwest POS technology company has been serving the restaurant industry for more than 75 years. NCR serves up point-of-sale (POS) solutions to more than 75,000 restaurants worldwide.

“Midwest POS is known for its quality customer service,” said NCR President and CEO Michael D. Hayford. “Midwest POS customers will keep their favorite local team, and now with NCR, that local team will receive even more support and can expand offerings provided.”

NCR said it will operate three local offices with the Midwest POS staff and management.

“We are pleased to join NCR,” said Midwest POS President Murray Bartholome. “In today’s competitive market, having direct support from NCR best enables us to provide more solutions to our existing customers and grow our client base. NCR is committed to the customer first, and so are we. With this shared commitment, we are confident that the only thing changing is our name and logo. Our staff, culture and mission to provide the highest quality solutions and service will remain the same.”

Earlier this month, NCR announced the launch of an all-in-one subscription solution to help restaurants use its Aloha Essentials more efficiently.

Restaurants using the NCR Aloha system can tap into Aloha Essentials, which offers all the tools necessary to run their businesses.

The flexible, end-to-end solution also offers add-on tools that restaurant owners can use as their businesses expand and their needs change.

The one-fee central subscription includes access to the main components of the Aloha platform, such as payments, mobile alerts and takeout functions, while also offering hardware and support. There are also add-on tools to advance brand loyalty.
