WASHINGTON — Kansas City Federal Reserve Board President Esther George and Richmond Fed President Jeffrey Lacker will testify before a House panel on Wednesday.
Rep. Bill Huizenga, R-Mich., chairs the House Financial Services subcommittee on monetary policy and trade, which will hold the hearing on "Governance, Monetary Policy and Economic Performance" at 10 a.m.
Huizenga introduced legislation that passed the House last November that calls for, among other things, rules-based monetary policy and removes restrictions on the Government Accountability Office authority to audit the Fed.
George is currently a voting member of the Federal Market Open Market Committee, which votes on monetary policy decisions. The next FOMC meeting will take place Sept. 20 and 21.
