Landbank of the Philippines is planning to open 23 branches and deploy an additional 190 ATMs to expand its reach to customers according to a report by ABS-CBN network.

Out of the total new branches planned, 16 will be full scale branches or "branch-lets" a smaller than full-sized branch; five will be agri-hubs or branches that can serve the very rural areas and two will be mobile units, a spokesperson for Landbank said in a statement.

According to the bank's spokesperson, the bank's agri-hubs cater to rice-producing provinces and the agriculture sector and plans are to have a total of 10 branches to service this population by the end of this year.

The two mobile branches will serve the banking needs of those in areas that have been hit by devastating circumstances such as hurricanes or fire.

Landbank said the 190 ATMs will be installed nationwide and serve clients, government workers and beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, an investment program that provides cash grants for the education of children in poverty.

The bank expects its ATM network to exceed 2,500 by end of the year.
