Cardtronics Becomes Exclusive ATM Provider For United Pacific

Cardtronics announced Monday (Dec. 12) it inked a long-term agreement with United Pacific, making it the exclusive provider of ATM services.

The newly formed relationship calls for Cardtronics to own and operate ATMs at more than 300 gas station and convenience store locations — operating under the We Got It! Food Mart, My Goods Market and Circle K brand names — in California, Colorado, Oregon and Washington State. Cardtronics also has expansion rights to provide ATM services for United Pacific in potential future locations.

“Cardtronics welcomes the opportunity to provide United Pacific with ATM services on an enterprise-wide basis, which we believe better enables the company to focus on its core business as a convenience and gas store merchant,” said Jonathan Simpson-Dent, chief commercial officer of Cardtronics, in a press release.

The move on the part of Cardtronics comes at a time when the ATM operator is inking and expanding deals with all sorts of industries. In November, it expanded its ATM services relationship with Carnival Cruise Line in which it is becoming the exclusive provider of ATM services to guests and crew on board all of Carnival’s entire fleet of ships. Cardtronics has had an alliance with Carnival since 2009.

The deal also includes Cardtronics providing the ATM machines to the crew member sections of all of its ships. Cardtronics operates four ATMs on the ships, which total 25 as of now. “Carnival Cruise Line has chosen to grow with Cardtronics, and we welcome the opportunity to make cash access easy and convenient for everyone on board a Carnival cruise ship,” said Simpson-Dent in a press release back then. Meanwhile, James Heaney, chief financial officer at Carnival Cruise, said it expanded its relationship because of its “commitment to dependability and service over the course of many years. We value that history highly in expanding our relationship.”
